Support FLOCKED 2012

This October 24th, 2011, alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, Inc. will host our fourth annual ‘FLOCKED by aKDPhi’ display for Breast Cancer Awareness on the bottom one-third of Bascom Hill and we need your support to make this a successful project! alpha Kappa Delta Phi is the first and largest international Asian-interest sorority and the first in the state of Wisconsin. Our sorority prides and dedicates itself on four pillars: scholarship, leadership, Asian/Asian American Awareness, and service. Our national philanthropy is Breast Cancer Awareness and since 1999, alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, Inc. has strived year after year to educate people within our reach about breast cancer. The event, “FLOCKED,”  recreates an old prank which took place on the first day of classes in 1979. Students on that day were greeted with 1,008 pink flamingos that covered the hill to the Dean’s office. This year marks the 33rd year anniversary of this memorable event and we will replicate this once again in hopes of raising campus spirit and Breast Cancer Awareness to the Madison campus and community. We would like to ask for a donation in sponsoring a Pink Flamingo. All proceeds generated will be donated to Avon Breast Cancer Crusade with whom we have an exclusive partnership with. Your sponsorship of a flamingo will have your name and optional words of your choice to commemorate those who were affected by breast cancer. We are asking $10 for each Pink Flamingo, $1 for a ribbon, or any donation that you can make. Any support is welcome and would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, come out to see the display on Bascom Hill on October...
